Yes it would. i have the exact same problem. A good face primer is the new L'oreal Studio Secrets Anti-Shine Mattifying Primer.. it has rave reviews and i have tried it and i use it everyday to control shine. Its also relatively cheap considering how much product you get. Another good one is 'Matte' gel from MAC Cosmetics, however it is more expensive and you do not get anywhere near as much product and it is essentially the exact same thing (if anything, the L'oreal one is better) so i would say the L'oreal one. And when you apply face makeup (liquid foundation) make sure to use powder over it because if you dont it will make you look more shiny. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is amazing! It give your foundation a silky-smooth finish and fills in fine lines and wrinkles. It creates a matte finish and soaks up excess oil. It is on the expensive side, Revlon makes a cheaper primer, but it's not quite as good! Also, get a cleanser with Salicylic acid, and a moisturizer made for oily skin, and you'll have the perfect backdrop for your beautiful make-up! If you are still noticing oil on your face after you've applied make up, gently blotting with oil absorbing sheets by Clean and Clear, and apply a transparent powder to the oily areas!
