I stopped taking my birth control pills is that the reason for me breaking out on my face?

OK I WAS TAKING BIRTH CONTROL PILLS FOR MY ACNE AND IT WORKED I STOPPED TAKING THEM AFTER A WHILE AND MY FACE FLARED UP WITH ZITS. IS THE REASON FOR ME BREAKING OUT B/C I STOPPED TAKING THE PILLS?I stopped taking my birth control pills is that the reason for me breaking out on my face?
Yes. Birth control pills don't ';cure'; acne like Accutane (or sometimes antibiotics) can. They just control your hormones in a certain fashion, which limits acne for some women. So if you stop taking them, you will most likely have the same situation you did before, since your hormones will go back to the way they were on their own.

Birth control pills aren't usually the top recommendation for acne care. If yours is extremely bad, go see your dermatologist to recommend a prescription treatment. If you think you can manage on your own, try a simple acne routine.

If you haven't been, you might try a treatment with salicylic acid and/or benzoil peroxide. Choose a weak solution/cream/gel of both of these and use it on your entire face twice daily. If you'd like a homemade salicylic acid-type treatment, you can use aspirin or alka-seltzer tablets crushed in water or witch hazel to make a paste/mask.

You can also loosen skin plugs, remove dead skin that might create them, and increase skin cell turnover by using an astringent that has glycolic acid in it. If you find glycolic acid too strong for your skin, try a lactic acid treatment. This will also help diminish scarring or marking from existing pimples.

You can also use masks or spot treatments with sulfur and/or resourcinol.

With these products you should also use a moisturizer, or you could get a bounce-back production of oil and that can make you break out. A good option is jojoba oil, which is chemically almost identical to sebum, your natural skin oil, and therefore works very well with your skin. A lot of acne sufferers swear by it. You can use it on its own or add a few drops to an oil-free moisturizer.I stopped taking my birth control pills is that the reason for me breaking out on my face?
Could be. Either you had them all festering in there waiting for you to stop the medication, or it is just your body's way of removing the last of the ';toxins'; from your system. Why'd you stop? If it was to get pregnant, all the power to ya, but if not, go back on them. It won't hurt you.
Well, bc pills can help control acne, so there is a good chance that you could flare up after you stop. Talk to your dermatologist about your options.
why absolutely women break out on the face just about every time a hormone change happens alot of women break out on the face during menstrual cycle you see women have soft skin due to estrogen so any veration in your hormones can change your skin drastically lets say for example if a transsexual starts HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) the estrogen changes the mans skin drastically as well so yes the hormone change has allot to do with face break outs
the zits are caused by hormonal changes. use salycylic acid and don't pick or pop the zits.
