Why are they not investing in jobs and spending control!!!!With the gov. spending out of control will we face off a great depression?
all is well ! don't listen to the negitive crap ! be happy and enjoy life ! but do plan to save yourself a nice little nest egg, it makes life much more happy ! trust me !! the butcher......With the gov. spending out of control will we face off a great depression?
I predict the worst economic depression in the history of the United States will strike in October, 2009.
That's why you'll see a mediocre attempt by Republicans to win this year's elections. They know the economic mess they've put this country in, and don't want to be held accountable for it. They'll let the Democrats win; everybody will blame Democrats for the depression; and the Republicans will sail to victory in 2012 on a promise to revitalize the economy and create jobs.
Republicans AND Democrats have allowed this mess to continue for years. We have now spent ourselves into a multi-trillion-dollar debt, and no so-called 'stimulus' package will help. You can't 'spend your way out of debt'.
GAO Director David Walker has been on a mission for ears, warning people of this pending disaster, claiming that the U.S.A. is headed toward bankruptcy, but no one wants to listen. When the great depression strikes, tens of millions of us will see our investments go up in smoke; tens of millions will be jobless; and there won't be enough building ledges in the country for wealthy elitists to jump from. This coming depression will make October, 1929 look like a church picnic. Don't believe me? Why not save this answer and see how close I come to being right! -RKO- 01/31/08
It will be a recession but could lead to a depression, why wouldn't it? You must understand who really controls the economy.

No we wont face a GREAT DEPRESSION but we will be in a serious recession for sometime......Difference between a depression and recession is a majority of the country will have jobs where as a majority of them back during the depression did not have a job
When the Democrats took over the house and senate in January 2007, they reinstated Pay as you Go, meaning that any new bills can't add to the deficit. The problem is that the war is still funded with foreign debt. Bush will not allow the war to be added to the budget because it would automatically require some kind of surtax. So, we continue to add dramatically to our debt and deregulation and globalization is actually decreasing the number of good jobs in this country. Bush will not allow changes to the regulations on corporations to change the way things are going now.
';Out of control'; is a myth and lie; Congress controls every cent of the US Budget, both taxes and spending. ';Out of control'; is a CYA** slogan to shift responsibility, and evade decisions.
That slogan is a 40-year old political shell game. If Congress can not control the use of its chief power, call Congress bankrupt, not us.
